Mandate
The Alva Foundation imagines a world where all children are happy, healthy and connected to the environment around them. We provide financial support to Canadian registered charities who offer programs and services that support children and youth, and the environment.
Preferred Funding
The foundation’s funding criteria will favour charitable agencies or institutions in good standing with Canada Revenue Agency that:
- Support or serve children & youth at risk, age 0-17 and/or
- Have a focus on the environment
Grants will favour charities:
- Whose management and program offerings operate within Canada;
- Whose budgets typically range from $300,000 – $10,000,000;
In 2022 we will be considering single year grants up to a maximum of $50,000 and multi-year grants for $30,000 per year up to a maximum of 3 years.
Granting Regions
Donations are made only within Canada.
Restrictions
Grants will not favour applications for:
- Individuals
- Endowment funds
How to apply for funding
All applications will be solicited directly by current Board members. No applications will be accepted without direct solicitation from a Board member until further notice.
